FAQ
Something not covered here? Ask the team in game.
How do I join?
Start Minecraft Java Edition 26.2 and choose Multiplayer, then Add Server. Enter equatorsmp.eu as the server address and join.
Can I play on Bedrock, console or phone?
Not at the moment. You need Minecraft Java Edition 26.2 on a computer, with an official Minecraft account.
Do I need to apply or get whitelisted?
No. The server is open: add the address and join.
How big is the world?
It is the whole planet: about 80,000 blocks around the equator and 40,000 from pole to pole. One block is 500 metres across. Heights are squeezed to 35 metres per block, so the Himalayas still fit under the build limit.
Where do I start?
On Dam Square in Amsterdam, at x 1089, z −11660. From there you can travel anywhere on Earth and settle where you like.
Is the ore where it is in real life?
Yes. On top of normal Minecraft ore, 92 regions get extra ore where the real deposits are, from diamonds in Botswana to copper nodules on the Pacific floor. The big oil fields count as coal. You can see every region under the Ores tab of the map.
What happens at the edge of the map?
Keep going east past 180° and you arrive at 180° west, just like sailing around the real world. In the far north and south the world ends at the poles.
Where can I see the map?
The live map at map.equatorsmp.eu:8100 shows the world in 3D and is updated as people build. Areas fill in as the world is rendered.
